TV Tuner help
« on: March 08, 2002, 10:20:39 am »

I'm in India and I'm using a Phillips TV Tuner card with Windows XP. Software that came with the tuner works fine. With MJ I scan, detect about 100 channels (either antenna or cable), audio reception is 100%, but for video I get a black screen. Tried tweaking different settings but nothing seems to budge. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Gadi.

Thanks for the quick response. Any chance to get a patch soon? It is a pretty common tuner...

Yaobing from JRiver can answer that but i do not think so, not in version 8 at least.

they are getting ready to go RC1 soon and get MJ8 out of beta.

MJ8 supports ATI And Hauppauge TV Cards

I have my hands full at the moment so I can not give you a definite time frame. We will try to add more and more cards - this is the only thing I can tell you now.

Is there a WDM driver for your card? If so, you may try installing WDM driver (if you are not already using it). With WDM driver it may work since it is hardware independent. If you are already using WDM driver but it does not work, let us know so we can try figure out a solution.

Thanks for your interest.

Which version of MJ?

If it is 8.0.218 or 8.0.222, please wait for the next build (possibly later today).

Otherwise, can you see "Video Preview Pin..." under Options in right-click menu? If yes, have you tried it? Can you change Color Space/Compress format from there? Since I do not have your type of card here at this time, I will have to guess.

the version is the commerical one (7.2.280). i can access the setting and i could change it once (to RGB555). tried all the others - there's no apparent change and when i go back to the channel, the setting is changed back to RGB555. in any case, none of the settings made any video show up.

by the way - do you have any means to chat (msn/yahoo)? might make it faster. thanks for your time!
