Trouble with Slideshow in Theater Mode
« on: November 21, 2013, 02:39:47 pm »

In Media Center 19 when playing audio in theater mode, the background internet generated slideshow works great provided the artist name of the file does not have a comma in the name. Problem is, I use "last name first -comma- first name last" in the artist field of all my files. So, a Genesis file will show a really cool slideshow behind "Now Playing", but a "Collins, Phil" file will just show one of the default built-in photos. Any suggestions?

Welcome.

This is a tricky one.  We assume the artist field will be the artist name, and not a reconfigured version of the artist name.

We could assume a comma in an artist name meant the name was transposed, but that could easily lead to other problems.

How about putting the natural name in 'Artist' and putting the transposed name in a new field like 'Artist Sort'?  MC's expression engine would make it pretty easy to do this.
