Untouched output of YCBCR??

Is it possible to output untouched ycbcr in jriver mediacenter 19??
Is the answer no.....can it be done in the near future?

Its not possible, and its unlikely to be possible in the near or far future.

PCs are designed to work with RGB, first and foremost. Even if you instruct your graphics card to output YCbCr today, it'll convert to RGB at least once, because thats what your OS is designed to use.

Yea, as far as I know it's simply impossible, at the hardware level, to output unmolested ycbcr on a PC.

As a related question, Hendrik, have you investigated what, if at all, the new AMD Mantle framework might offer to the world of HTPCs? I was just thinking that a really low level API like Mantle might allow the passthrough of ycbcr.
