Youtube in Standard View
« on: October 08, 2014, 03:53:30 am »

Hi there! I would like to contextualize before asking...

When under the youtube tab in standard view searching for videos and I drag them to my current playlist it adds a Data filetype under the name Watch and it contains the address of the youtube video, double click and it links to my browser and opens it (and stops the current playing list).

On the other hand, when youtube theater's view, It's possible to see thumbnails of the videos and play them directly from the jriver player, and actually if you exit the theater view, in the standard view you can see the youtube video as if it were in your library like any other video of file, with its description, and even image!

I was wondering if is it possible that when you drag the video in youtube's standard view (which is just the regular youtube website) to the current playing list (independently of its zone) it adds the video like the theater view?:
e.g:
Filename (path): webmedia://YouTube
Filename (name):2QEXZkAlVSs
Filetype: jrweb
Type: Video
among many others like title, description and even the image (which I still can't find where it's being downloaded from)

I've tried changing the first 4 parameters shown above manually, and it works! (I can watch youtube directly in JRiver) but of course that's not the idea...

Any help?
Cheers!

PS: The videos played from the theater view version doesn't stay in the recently played files (since is a streaming media i guess), anyone knows why?
PS2: Just tell me if i need to add more info on the subject and I will provide, thanks!

I'm not clear on the question.  You can play YouTube from Standard View by using Video > Connected Media > YouTube in the tree.  When you click a video, it'll popup and ask what you want to do with it.

Hi there! thanks for the answer, have you tried that?, 'cause when I click it's only playing the video as if it was the regular browser, but when I do it from the theater view (then exit to the standart view) I got te video o my list and I can play it using the controls from jriver, I mean use the video like any random song... I don't know if I'm being clear but you could try it:

Go to Theater View -> Youtube -> just play any video -> exit theater view -> select your current zone playing -> you'll see the thumbnail of the video -> you can add files to this and make a playilst with that video.

That is something that you cannot do with the Standart youtube in standard view.

I'll try to restart the popups maybe I've done before and select "just play inside jriver" o something like that.... if that's the case, which option should I use?, 'cause correct me if I'm wrong but the message that I'll get is like I would "open URL" form file menu... in which if I put http://www.youtube.om/?v=CODE I will open my browser outside JRiver, and if i puto webmedia://YouTube/CODE it works, and it shows me the options that I guess you're talking about, and asks me what I wanna do with it, I can play it, add it to my Web Media or Record it and it goes to my hard drive.

Cheers!
