I know there's an answer to this on the forum somewhere as I've seen it before but my search-fu has failed me.

I have ripped the Gravity Blu-Ray but when I play it the title selected is a making-of documentary. I can change to the movie using the OSD menu but the next time I play it plays the documentary again. So how do I change the default title that is used? Some kind of text file if I remember correctly?

Go to normal view. Under the thumbnail of the movie (rip), click 'tag', the tags appear at the left of the screen.
Scroll down until you see 'name', to the right of it, just change the name to the correct one. Close the tag screen with the X on top of the tag screen. Thats it.

Umm, is that right? Surely that's just going to change the name of the movie?

I can confirm I too have had this 'problem' with Gravity Blu-Ray.  What the OP actually means is the default audio track - it seems to select the audio commentary.

Likewise, for Pacific Rim Blu-ray, it selects the French DTS-MA track.  Funnily enough, the English DTS-MA track is listed last in the list of audio tracks, after commentaries, 2.0, AC3 etc.

It's why I would like to see a feature added where it sets (and remembers) the last used audio track as default, per film.  Store this info in the sidecar file, and as a library field (of type dropdown).

Also, at the point of a single folder import, you should be prompted what track to set as default, and during an auto-import there should be someway of notifying you to (preferably) do something to set a default.  Something along the lines of an alerts icon.

Obviously, only if multiple audio tracks are found.

If you're 'customizing' your rips so you pick out only 1 audio track, MC works flawlessly in this regard.  But all my rips are full disc copies so I imagine I'll always have this 'problem'; Disney's Brave on DVD is the same - it selects 2.0 stereo as the default audio track too.

Nope, sorry that's not what I mean. I obviously haven't made myself very clear I mean the video track not the audio track. In fact I've always found that the last audio track used is remembered automatically.

There's nothing wrong with a full rip copy - if you have the disk space. However if you want to try "movie only" rips you can use Slysoft's "ClownBD" https://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?25818-Movie-Only-Copies-eac3to-tsMuxer-amp-ImgBurn-Made-Easy
or "makeMKV" http://www.makemkv.com/ -then you just select the main movie and audio track(s) and just play the movie directly when you clink on Play. This method eliminates the issue you are having and saves a bunch of disk space.

Yeah I know that's a possibility but I like having the full disc and I'm positive I read about a way to do this in Media Center.

When playing back a video, you can change or select (where available) by right clicking on the playing Video: - Titles - Streams (Audio, Video) - Subtitles - Cropping - Aspect Ratios - Resolution (including desired FPS playback)

These values are then stored in the Tag "Playback Info" in the form of "(1:3)(14:BlurayPlaylist)(10:00100.mpls)(7:Streams)(5:0,1,9) (9:Subtitles)(0:)" pending what playback customisation you have specified.

To reset to the Global Playback Options just detail the contents of this tag.

Thanks Hendrik, that would be great as it definitely isn't working for me on video tracks. To test it I just did the following with the rip of Gravity.

1. Pressed play - the 00201.mpls starts to play (making of documentary)
2. Using the OSD switched to 00100.mpls (movie)
3. Watched some of it and then pressed stop.
4. Pressed play - Say Yes to resume option.
5. Title 00201.mpls plays starting at the timecode that I stopped the movie.

The most annoying bit is that if I switch back to the 00100.mpls title after resuming, it goes back to the beginning and loses the bookmark.

I also confirmed that the audio track and subtitle tracks both get remembered correctly.

Doesn't make any difference unfortunately, still plays the documentary

Ah right.  So you have to use the right click menus for selections to be saved?

I have just been pressing down arrow to scroll through the options then select the relevant titles/audio tracks.

Ok, I confirmed that the functionality works as expected when using the context menu, the only problem was that the selected title was not being saved when you used the OSD navigation, so in an upcoming build:

Fixed: Using the Display View OSD to select a Blu-ray title will properly save the selection for subsequent playback.

You're a star Hendrik, thanks for that. I pretty much exclusively use Theater View with a remote control so this fix will be great.

And ditto about exclusive use of Theater View.  I only use Standard View for importing and editing fields.
