Movie Series Cover Art
« on: December 01, 2014, 05:53:03 am »

Hi,

Just started using series for my movies as list was getting huge. I have grouped files like Star Trek and Star Wars into a one folder. My question is, is it possible to assign the folder it's own generic cover art rather than the cover art of one of the movies in the folder.

I have Theatre View configured to group on the expression TVInfo(SeriesDisplay)

Whenever I try to change the folder cover art it updates all the files inside it to the same image.

Thanks,

John

Yes...well...maybe...might depend on how you have it set up...but what I did when I was grouping was put the Cover Art for the movie series into the same folder that had my TV Series cover art.  Just name it the same as the series (IE: Star Wars.jpg)

We really need a better way of handling box sets automatically. Doing all this stuff manually is pretty tedious. Not to mention difficult, for the average users.

That trick doesn't work for me.  I am using a calculated field to show either the movie name or series name as appropriate and the series groups just show a random image file as the top of the image stack.  Usually it is some odd image (like from a short) that ends up on top.

I've requested previously, and will request again, that Theater View 'scroll' the various covers when an item has sub-items.

As it is now, theater view shows smaller, fanned images of all the covers.  I'd rather it flip/scroll thru all the covers, maybe every second or so.

Other than that, I have no idea how to have a 'series' cover for movies, sorry :(
