Windows freezes briefly when ripping CD
« on: September 01, 2016, 05:18:19 pm »

When ripping a CD, Windows freezes intermittently. As a test, I configured max rip processes, max encode processes, and max combined processes all to 1, so encoding a track doesn't start until ripping has reached 100%. The freezing only happens during ripping, never during encoding.

Can you try another machine or a different drive?  What is the full version of MC that you have installed?

I have MC 20.0.132. I don't have another computer to test with, but I did replace the CD/DVD drive and I still have the same issue.

I did some further testing and found that it is the disk utilization that hits 100%. I tried ripping a CD using Window Media Player and it did not cause the disk utilization to reach 100%.
