Simple Way to Record OTA Shows?
« on: April 02, 2015, 07:02:10 pm »

All I really wanna do is record the Nightly News daily.  There used to be "record all" as an option I thought.  Now you click record, subscribe, for each day, times seven, to 7 days a week, and what, 6 other menu choices per click just to record one OTA show from the guide.  Is there an easy way or have I missed the plot?

But how often do you setup for daily/weekly shows ?

I don't want those choices to go away - they mean that I can record shows that have odd schedules.

BTW, there is a "TV" Forum on this site, where you will get better feedback.

Install the latest build available on this board.  Go to Tools > Options > Television > Recording, click the last item "Ask me about the following detail settings...".  Uncheck everything that you do not want to be bothered with.

That helps a lot but one still has to subscribe to all 7 days to repeat daily recordings.

why can't you change it to record all showings instead of a specific time?  In standard view, it is under the "When" drop down box.  I am 99.9% sure that you also have that option in Theater view when scheduling.

This change, in an upcoming new build, will help:

NEW: Added more television subscription default option items on Television options property page.

You will be able to set the default behavior to "One per day, near selected program time".
