Sample Rate Display Converts DSD To PCM
« on: September 18, 2015, 09:41:11 am »

I customized the MC display to show me the sample rate of the currently playing track. However, when playing DSD content, natively and not converting to PCM, the display will show the correct 2.8224 sample rate for about one second then convert it to display in PCM format such as 352.8 (see attached image). I know MC isn't converting the audio, just the display. Is there a way to display the DSD sample rate if I'm playing native DSD files without converting them?

Hey, good timing!

There's a fix coming in the next build for this.  It was just a goof that we'd show the sample rate that the audio would become if it was converted to PCM (but you're bitstreaming!).

And of course the fix will be on version 21, not version 20.

Terrific. I will update to 21 and wait for the fix :~)
