[21.0.11] Using WDM to route audio from client to server
« on: October 03, 2015, 04:12:39 am »

So I have two devices: my laptop (the client) and my HTPC (the server). I have configured the client to install and use WDM so that audio content streamed from my browser passes through to its copy of MC. That copy of MC is set up to play to "There" (the server's copy of MC). Obviously, it doesn't quite work that way because I am getting no sound from either device using this method. Is there a way to do this properly?

So I'm clear, the objective is to use my sound system, vastly superior to my laptop's little speakers, to handle the audio of anything I stream with the laptop. This, in turn, is meant to further deprecate the use of the server for browsing the internet to play content.

You cannot stream WDM through the network, sorry.
Only local playback is supported when using one of the "Live" input options like WDM, ASIO or WASAPI Loopback.

Mmm, okay. Is this a feature that could possibly be implemented?
