[REQ] Need way to just scan for channels
« on: October 20, 2015, 05:31:53 pm »

There needs to be a way to only scan again for channels ("re-scan") and nothing else.

The only current way is to do setup with all sorts of extraneous things.

Today, I tried doing that to re-scan and the channel I was hoping for, was not found, so I clicked "Cancel" at the end .... but .... MC21 continued to do the whole mc2xml setup anyway.

Thanks for your attention to this issue !

What method did you use to rescan?

Did you do

TV Options > Manage Channels > Rescan button?

Okay.... I looked for that in "Manage Devices". :)

Perhaps a Rescan button should be added there too that goes to the same process.

Thanks !

(And the "Perform a more thorough but slower scan" checkbox should be moved to the previous dialog box, so that it can be checked before the scan.)

(And the "Perform a more thorough but slower scan" checkbox should be moved to the previous dialog box, so that it can be checked before the scan.)

It is where it is for a reason.  You do not have to wait for scan to finish before changing that option.  Any time during scan you find the result unacceptable, you can check the checkbox, and scanning will restart.

If we put the checkbox on previous page, the user will have to go back a page to make the change.
