Configure audio output device based on content

I'm wondering if there is a way to configure different audio output devices based on the source material?

Example :

Audio FLAC/MP3's configured to use an external USB DAC or optical/coax SPDIF output

Video DvD/Blu RAY configured to use HDMI ouput

configure one zone (say music) to output to whatever, then configure the other zone to output to the HDMI.  don't forget to add a zoneswitch rule so that the audio zone shuts off when you play a video, and vice versa
