Media Center crashed very often

I am running Media Center 21.0.23 on Ubuntu 14.04.

Very often (min. once a day) media center is crashing without any notice. The most time I am streaming from media center to a Denon AVR-3311.
The crashes happen during streaming or in idle (the PC and media center are (should) running the whole time)
I attached the log file of media center. Maybe someone could have a look?

I have a similar issue with my install on ubuntu. I have set up a cron script/job to restart after these crashes as per this very helpful post: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=92271.0

There is a problem in the socket code, especially evident with certain network devices which we are working on. You could drop back to 21.0.7 to see if that helps in the meantime.

I'm having the same problem with Mint 17.2. I tried attaching my log file but it is too large.

With mediacenter 20 I used as proposed a cron script/job. But with mediacenter 21 it didn't work any more.

Now I went back to 21.07. I will report if we have any improvement about the crashes.

Hi there.

I am encountering the same, mostly while streaming from a server to a zone with two MC attached. One player is a windows based MC, the other running on a pi (Debian Wheezy).

The server is on Debian Wheezy, but a full AMD 64. Latest Windows, ARM and linux version. Here is what is to be seen in the logfiles of the server (exemplary)

 mediacenter21[17834]: segfault at 650000006c ip 00007f2039c3ac8a sp 00007f1ffb7fc7a8 error 4 in libc-2.19.so[7f2039bb9000+19f000]
[472335.171725] mediacenter21[22146]: segfault at 21 ip 00007f895415cd31 sp 00007f890dff97b0 error 4 in libJRReader.so[7f8953eb7000+39a000]

The library is stored on an NTFS partition. I used to run on a WHS 2011 and am migrating to Linux envrionments...

21.0.23 was crashing daily, but 21.0.28 hasnt crashed once; for me at any rate, and I run it 24/7. Which version are you running? If not 28, then I suggest you update asap.

xubuntu lts 14.04 32 bit, running mc22.0.36 as anything later doesn't work properly over vnc. using linux mc22 as media server to windows mc22 last version / jremote on ipad.

Actually, I encountered these issues after before and after update to 28. 28 seemed to make it even worse, but that could be due to intense testing after upgrade...

Uninstall MC21. I use Mint, so I followed Awsome Donkeys how to install MC. My license and libraries all OK. I have had no shutdowns with 28. GL.

As suggested I tried the version 21.0.7. This version runs with less shutdowns than the 21.0.23. But still to much.

Now I will try the version 21.0.28 too. I hope I will do the same good exeperience as you reported here.
