Tagging woes
« on: August 29, 2003, 09:30:36 pm »

I'm a new guy.

I set up MC9 to remove id3v.1 tags because I heard that would work better with my iPod.

Now I have a need to have both v.1 and v.2 tags on my files.  What is the best way to configure MC9 so that both kinds of tags are saved?

I'm on version 9.1.237

On my prior version I could right-click on a song in the right-hand window and it would let you select the "properties" and you could see all kinds of information.  Now that's gone???

Why is that feature gone?  (you could see which kind of tags you had, etc)

Action Window> File Properties> File type Info.

when i right click and select "action window" I do not get "file properties" .... It opens up some generic window which says "Track Info" and an icon of my iPod but you can't do anything in it

Try hitting the little back arrow in the upper left corner of the action window.

well if you wish to update all your tags

Turn on ID3v1 and Id3v2

select All your filesl

right click

library tools

update tags from library

when done they should have both tags.

Jim H:

I don't see a little black arrow in the upper left corner ...

It is just a little window that says Track Info

There is a "home" icon in upper left window

In the middle upper part of the window there it shows the drive letter ("I") for my iPod

Then there is a picture of an iPod in the middle of the window and it says "drag-n-drop files here"
