Re Ripping
« on: August 27, 2003, 06:02:27 am »

Is there a way to re-rip cd's in MC9, and have it overwrite the MP3's from the first rip?   This is useful for cases where you accidentally re-rip a CD (easy to do when you're ripping a whole pile), or when you intentionally want to re-rip at a different bit rate, different codec, etc.

I thought for sure this feature was supposed to be in MC9, but I just re-ripped a couple of cd's (accidentally), and now have duplicate tracks.  The new tracks are the same name as the old, but with a "(1)" appended to the file name.

If you can't re-rip, is there a way to remove duplicates, keeping the more recent files?

Thanks.

I haven't found a way yet.  I ended up removing the re-rips (with the (1) at the end) in windows, then updated my library.

I hope there's a better way, and someone shares it with us.
