Currently the Hairstyle relies on the tree structure for sorting.  However, after the switch to panes some view schemes were removed from the tree.  So now it is impossible to sort by Genre, for example, since there are no panes in the Hairstyle.

Perhaps hairstyle could use the old tree sorting scheme.  Then It would also be easy to in provide the option to use the old tree in the main interface and turn off panes, for those people who are intimidated by panes, as suggested by many users earlier.

Maybe the sorting method could be chosen during setup and under the View menu.
