OT - Dual Album CD's
« on: August 25, 2003, 06:39:57 am »

Hi All,
I know this is off topic, but was thinking someone here would know.

I keep on seeing on Ebay cd's that have 2 albums on them. These are not cdr's but factory sealed cd's.

Has anyone ever seen these before? and If so are they the same quality as having 1 album on 1 cd??

Thanks,

It's hard to know without specifics, but double CDs do exist.  E.G., I purchased Paul DeLay's Take It From the Turnaround

Here we go:

imjustagamer first LP : Casino ==38 minutes

imjustagamer second LP :Las Vegas===40 minutes

One and Two on a cd ==78 minutes , less than the 80 minutes of the cd.
Price MUST BE price of a single cd.

Can be a good deal if you do not mind not to have original art for each cd [ but sometimes they have it] , and have the first song of the second LP  number 11 or 12 instead of 01 or 02.
And not to  know if you are listening to the first album or second album.
You have to use the inner notes to know.
On a computer ,ALL the two albums would have Casino/Las Vegas as album name

Until you edited the properties and made them appear as two completely separate albums, each with their own track numbering.  The joys of computer-based music  ;D  ;D  ;D

Judging by what imjustagamer said there is no loss in quality as these are just normal CD's (WAV).  The only reason they can fit 2 on is because the original album was only around 40 mins i.e. only fills half a CD.

The joys of computer-based music

Well ,not sure.. If you rip them ,if this case ,fine ,if you have to edit properties each time you play the cd ,not sure it is such a joy....

imjustagamer

Quality is the same PERIOD
Sometimes they may cut short one song to make the two albums fit on the cd.
Some Lps are ONLY on 'Two on One  Cd'.
So you can be sure quality is the same

PS: Did Kiss had 38 LPs out?

Those KISS cds are almost certainly bootlegs, aren't they? It doesn't make sense that an old KISS album (like Rock And Roll Over) would be on the same cd as a more recent Ace Frehley album (Trouble Walkin') since they were on completely separate record labels.

I guess I will find out.
I bought a Rolling Stones collection.

If it was only one or two sellers I wouldn't even of looked at this, but I have seen several sellers over the past month.....

Hopefully I will not get burnt.

Well , let say you got bootlegs.

What it means ? An illegal copy.

I mean you get the same quality , so never a rip of== ALL the Stones albums for $70..

The greatest problem with bootlegs is that ,in fact you give money to organized crime ,most of the time when buying them.
This bother me much more than to know if Hillary and artists get money
