I have MC set to fixed volume output. So that the volume control gets done at the receiver which is the last possible point in the chain.
In this configuration, it would be really cool if MCs volume control slider and buttons could, instead of adjusting the digital volume, rather be connected to an i/r blaster that commands the receiver volume.
Is that doable? Is it "too easy" ??
MC already supports an IR-blaster, so the framework is there. I really like the idea, but it has hurdles as far as I can see, one very easy to overcome, and one that is a bit more difficult.
1. It is a possible "one click to destroy your equipment"-setup, as running the receiver on 100% can destroy your speaker (and/or hearing
). I suggest volume limiting is as a default automatically put to "on" if the function is activated.
2. You set the volume to 37% in MC, what is the blaster command for that in receiver? Volume up and volume down is easy to find, and learn for the user. A given volume level can be more difficult.
