How to turn off audio commentary
« on: March 08, 2016, 02:54:24 pm »

Hi all

Just started using JRiver TV. Going okay but my kids and wife won't use it because whenever we watch a film on one of the United Kingdom's ITV channels we have what is called audio description. For example during a film if a man looks at a woman as she walks into the room you get a guy saying "Bruce regards Sheila pensively as she enters the room".  This feature is for visually impaired people.

Is there a setting in JRiver to turn this off?

Kind regards, Andrew

If I understand this correctly, the audio commentary is carried in a separate stream.  In MC we play only one audio stream.  So maybe the audio stream is incorrectly picked.  Try right click and see if you can find a menu for stream selection.

Also, for DVB, we save audio PID info in each channel.  There may be a list of audio PIDs and a selected PID.  You may want to try changing the selected PID by editing the channel.

Many thanks for your reply Yaobing

According to

http://www.flysat.com/astra28.php

there are 2 audio PIDs for this channel; 3333 and 3334. Mine was set to 3334. I went into manage channels, edit and changed it to 3333.  Now need to wait for a film to come on to see if it has worked.

Cheers, Andrew
