No way to resume play from pause with fade in
« on: March 16, 2016, 07:59:47 am »

If I pause a track, I can get it fade out in 2 seconds, which is nice.  But when I resume play, there doesn't seem a way to fade back in... it just jumps right back in.  I sometimes play at loud volumes and the resume from pause can be jolting without the fade in.  Thoughts?  Thanks.

I agree!

I'm looking into fading back in.  In my brief tries it wasn't working, but I have an email off to the team hoping they'll have some ideas.

Thanks.

If you add the option to fade in, perhaps it should also seek backwards by the fade duration.
So if you have a 5s fade, it jumps back 5 seconds before fading in so that you don't lose anything.

Some other programs do this sort of thing, but they place it on a timer.
And for podcasts they have a separate control so that it jumps back 30-60 seconds if it has been paused for more than a few minutes.

Coming next build:
NEW: Fading on pause now fades in when pause lifts.

Thanks to Hendrik for his awesome work.

^ Nice.  :)

Several of my friends have been impressed by the fade out on pause and on track change.  It's less jarring than a "cut" track change (or pause) and gives MC the feel of a sophisticated experience.  Something that's been *thought* about by people who know and care; then built in a way that reflects that.

I think fade on on un-pause is just another one of these touches that makes the product even better.  :)

Thanks,

Brian.
