Bug: Umlauts in Filename corrupts playlist
« on: March 29, 2016, 09:45:17 am »

Hi,
I got an issue with filenames. I transfered my library from OSX to Windows 10. All the files playback fine, but the m3u playlists corrupted because umlauts get replaced by ''

I can't search & replace for those music files because they are listed normally as long they aren't selected. I attached screenshots showing this

cheers :)

When Media Center exports to M3U it should be using UTF-8 if you pick the "M3U8" format.

Can a Library Backup of MC be made on MC for Mac and then Restored into MC for Windows?  Does MC for Windows do the slash (/) to backslash (\) conversion in file names?

This approach would remove the need to do any playlist export/import.

Brian.

@Matt
I use "export all playlist" to use smart playlists with other media player without this feature.
Can I choose M3u8 for exporting all playlists? I can't find it

@blgentry
You can 'search & replace' \ /

However you cant search for A'' , because Media Center shows Ä and switch to A'' when you enter the tag field. For some files - not for all files. There is something in the database
