DVD-Audio playback and ripping
« on: June 19, 2016, 04:33:37 am »

Hi all,
I have a collection of DVD-Audio disks, but my DVD-player died.

Ik can buy a really expensive player that does DVD-Audio (and SACD), or I can extract the Meridian Lossless Packing files (96 kHz/24-bit 5.1-channel audio track as well as a 192 kHz/24-bit stereo audio track) using JRiver software?

Extracting to multichannel FLAC would be good. Most modern media players will play it.

Any chance?

With kind regards,

Erik

Several years ago I used DVD Audio Extractor for the few DVD-A disks I have, extracting both the multi-channel and stereo versions

http://www.dvdae.com/

Not sure if it can be done in JRiver

regards,

Steve

I'm about 99% sure that MC can *not* rip DVD-A discs.

DVD Audio Extractor works.  I've only used it on a handful of discs, but it worked as expected.  I ripped to multi-channel and stereo FLACs directly with DVD audio extractor.  It has a free trial for 30 days as I recall.

Still regularly using DVD Audio Extractor...  With the increasing amount of high resolution discs being released it is getting more and more usage.
