I like how well the PIXEL skin turned out, and it looks rather nice on a Raspberry Pi - at the very least the ARM build of MC could benefit from it, since that's mostly ran on Raspberry Pis. Does the Id have its own theme or does it use another system theme? Hmm, if it's a different theme I wonder how hard it'd be to create a theme for it?

And it's funny, I was going to create a theme for macOS' dark mode, only to find the Modern Cards: Dark Edition already works perfectly for that. In addition, it looks like macOS Mojave uses the 'stock' spotlight red/yellow/green buttons in dark mode too. I thought it might use the older, darker spotlight buttons, but it looks like it uses the stock ones. I haven't found any setting in macOS to change that but that's a good thing, no need to make another skin.

The Id uses fluxbox which is about as simple as it gets. The Modern Cards Grey looks good on it to me.

Ah, I assume Fluxbox has a default theme? I see Fluxbox is available in the Arch Linux repos, so I might make a clone of my Arch VM to a test Arch VM and install Fluxbox to see what it's using. Probably wouldn't take much to make a modified skin based on Grey Edition.

To see the icons, you need to be using MC 22.0.20 or higher.

New skin updates time, with two new skins!

Modern Cards: Acrylic Dark Edition



I don't know why I didn't make an Acrylic version of the Dark Edition skin - it only took 5 minutes to do, but I rather like the result. Nonetheless, there's one now! This skin is for those Windows 10 users who want a "Fluent Design"-esk dark mode skin.


Modern Cards: Raspbian PIXEL Grey



Raspbian 10 Buster has a new grey theme for the PIXEL desktop environment. So, new skin to fit that aesthetic. Also, the old blue version was renamed to Modern Cards: Raspbian PIXEL Blue.

New skins in the latest version link in the first post. I also decided to include the Acrylic series of skins in the pack as well.

P.S. I want to do Adwaita light and dark updates at some point soon, because of the Adwaita skin changes in GNOME 3.32.

An update has been pushed for the Acrylic and Light Edition skins, adding support for the new waveform seekbar in MC26. Remember, the Light Edition skin offered here is a modified/updated version of Dihrael's original Modern Cards: Light Edition skin which has been updated for things like the new tag window and now the new waveform seekbar.

I'll also be updating the Modern Cards Linux skins shortly as well (and separate the Linux skins from the Acrylic and Light Edition skins in the download links).

Awesome job so far, Donkey!

I was wondering if there could be a skin between Modern Cards: Grey and Modern Cards: Dark. So, somewhat darker than Grey, but not full dark.

It's been awhile, but a small update. Recently a new version of the Modern Cards: Dark Edition skin was added to recent MC26 builds, the aim of this improvement was to fix an issue caused by the List_Selection and Tree_Selection files leaving light colored lines when moving the mouse over list and tree items and improve the overall look of the skin.

However, the new version of the Modern Cards: Dark Edition skin may not be to everyone's liking, so I forked off the old version of the skin and named it Modern Cards: Dark Legacy Edition. This new version of the skin has fixed List_Selection and Tree_Selection files, so the colored lines *shouldn't* be an issue in this version.

You can use this new version of the skin alongside the new, updated version of Modern Cards: Dark Edition without fear of updates overriding files.

P.S. I've also been working on a Modern Cards: Acrylic Dark Legacy Edition skin, which is nearly done along with a new Modern Cards: Acrylic Dark Edition skin based on the new Dark Edition skin, which is also nearly ready. Will be posting those updates pretty soon.
