Bug editing Date tags via JRemote
« on: August 23, 2016, 02:11:59 pm »

I don't know if this is an issue with JRemote or with MC, but am posting over here first.

In JRemote you can switch it from View tags to Edit tags mode. And in the latter mode you can "edit" the Date or (say) Date Imported tag and press Save. Then JRemote reports the tag as saved. But in reality, in the MC library database the tag / value is deleted rather than the new value being saved to it.

Note: The process does seem to work fine on plain text tag values. So perhaps the problem is due to a formatting issue on entering the date values in JRemote. I could imagine that JRemote (say) sends something like 31/12/1999 when MC expects (say) 1999-12-31 and (perhaps) if the value is bad it causes MC to delete the tag rather than accept a bad value. Just a thought.

Thanks for moving the post. But nevertheless as I said, I don't know it it is a bug in JRemote or a bug in MC. Or to put it another way, whether JRemote is sending a bad formatted command, or whether MC is wrongly parsing a good command..

Are you using JRemote for Android or iOS? Date tags don't display correctly in the Android version, so there's definitely a date bug somewhere in the JRemote code.
