I have uninstalled the current madVR version by executing (as admin)
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 22\Plugins\madVR\uninstall.batand renaming
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 22\Plugins\madVR to
madVR_0.90.20Then I did extract the latest (0.90.24)
http://madvr.com/ version at
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 22\Plugins\madVR and executed (as admin)
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\J River\Media Center 22\Plugins\madVR\install.batto install the latest version.
Next, downloaded and installed
whql-win10-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-16.10.1-oct13.exe from
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+10+-+64(Did uninstall the current version first and disabled auto-update.)
Then I did follow the hints
vonchen gave at
https://community.amd.com/message/2753608AMD versions prior to 16.9.2 had problems when changing the refresh rate.
Without enabling DX11, MC crashed when attempting to play a video.
For me (using an AMD RX 460 graphics card) this solution now works well.
