I've been reading up on using my OPPO as a streaming DAC. It sounds as if despite being a technically sound and advanced way of connection that it does not work that well in practice? It's hard to know what is currently true since firmaware updates have been available and the web takes some time to find content. What is the verdict on this now? I have my PC connected to my tv so I just want to use the OPPO as a DAC and do all control through JRiver and the PC. I do need to have the video form the PC available obviously too. I currently have it connected by HDMI and I pass a balanced analog output to a pre/pro. Thanks for reading.
