Transferring audio files to my new laptop
« on: December 06, 2016, 01:45:49 pm »

I have JR mc installed and running now. My next step is to transfer my 40gb of FLAC files to my laptop. I have all my music saved in an outboard hard drive and I was wondering if there is anything that I need to be aware of during the transferring process? I'm trying to avoid any unwanted surprises here. Thanks in advance.

There are many ways of doing this.

Here's just one option; others may be better for you depending on your exact scenario:

Copy all your media under one Mother-directory, so that all the folders are under that particular one. e.g. C:\Users\Media\

Then in JRiver MC go to Options>Library & Folders>Configure Auto Import

Be sure to add the mother directory to your list of watched folders. Configure the options as you wish.

Check auto import in background

MC will then import all the media that you copied over
