Library Mismatch - how to fix it?
« on: January 09, 2017, 06:46:29 am »

In 2016 I had a lot of growth in my media library and yesterday I wanted to cleanup my metadata.

I got some mismatch:

Environment:
All flac, bdmv etc. files are stored on a central NAS.
I have a HTPC connected via HDMI 2.0 to my TV in my livingroom to play my media and a PC in my home office to manage MC connected to a 34‘ 3k monitor. Living room and home office are connected through WLAN. The NAS (inside a cabinet in a different room) is connected through wired ethernet to the HTPC.

Something went wrong, e.g. :
I have now on my library on the PC for video:
Name Field: Adele – Live at the Royal Albert Hall

and on the HTPC
Name Field: Adele  / Live at the Royal Albert Hall

Is the Name field tagged in the flac file or only managed in the library?
What's the best way to synchronize the two libraries ( I did something)?
What's the best way to manage a library on the PC and distribute it as run time on the HTPC in my infrastructure?

Thank you for your help - I red the WIKI but it did not help.

Please take a look at this thread:

The tag may or may not contain the same information as MC's library (database).  There are two tools that can be used to copy to or from the tag.  The link explains more.  Try a few before you do very many.

The Update Library from Tags brings back the "/", so the replacement "/"  ->  "-" went wrong.

Try tagging back to the - and updating tags from library

Make sure the tag to file option is checked
