Removing installed playlists
« on: July 03, 2003, 08:12:00 am »

I like to clean-up my Tree Pane and eliminate any Playlists, Smartlists, etc. which I do not use keeping only those I have chosen or created in a custom-playlist folder.

My problem is that MC9 always restores the 'standard' playlists included in the install.
How do I eliminate these so that they do NOT return?

hmm that's weird. I have removed all of my smartlists except needs analyzed and one other and they stay deleted.

When do they come back? When you close and reopen ore when you install a new version?

They return everytime I close MC9 and re-start it.
As well as upon reinstall.

I'm at work and I tested it here, I deleted the Smartlists top 100, and they are gone.. I restarted and they are still gone.

I have been deleting whole Groups:
"Auto Smartlists (video & Image)"
"Auto Smartlists (music)"
"Recent Playing Now's"
"Top Hits"

They return when I re-open MC. . . every time.

I'm seeing the same problem.  When I delete the Auto Smartlists groups they return when restarting MC.  I too would like to remove the "Auto Smartlists" from my library.  I think they're in my way more than they're useful.

I can remove all the individual smartlists from within the group and they stay gone however if "Auto Smartlists (Music)" group doesn't exist when starting up, MC will create one with all the default lists within.

JRiver,  how can we delete these lists so they don't come back ?

Thanks
