Whenever I want to download a new plugin I get a fails to connect to server error.  

For example I am trying to edit a .rm file and the media editor wants a new plugin.  If it would tell me which plug in I needed  then I could do it manually but it does not do that.    

I have cable connection to the internet and it is working fine so that is not the problem. ?

Ok.  I will have to make the .rm file into something else.

But what about the connection to the server problem???

it maybe trying to find an encoder that does not exist

since it is Illegal To Convert RM files MJ does not have a encoder that will conver it.

Real media also will start a lawsuit on any company that tries to do this.

you might want to check Winamp i think someone said there was a plugin someone made that would do this. I am not sure if it is still avail. I hate winamp so much i will never install it again, so don't keep intouch with that program.
