Music albums broken up into different files
« on: March 28, 2017, 06:34:14 pm »

Can anyone tell me why this media center program sometimes breaks up an album into multiple files?  Some CD albums rip to one file, and others are broken up with one or more songs each.  Can a person migrate the multiple files back into one album? :-\
Thank you.

Just edit the album artist tag.

This most typically happens with compilation albums, or albums with guest artists.  What you want to do, is set an Album Artist, to ONE value for all the songs in the album.  This wiki article explains all of the details:

This is a very common issue.  Read the wiki entry and understand it and you'll never have this issue again.

Good luck!

Brian, Hi:

The link you cited is a 'no go', at least for me. This appears to be better http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Album_Artist_and_Album_Artist_(Auto)

Cheers,

Thanks.  The forum software breaks that link every time I post it.  It's because of the trailing ")" character.  I ALWAYS forget!

Thank you Mr. Lawrence for fixing that for me.  :) :)
