Install error
« on: June 02, 2017, 07:31:45 am »

After paying for version 23 installed media center 220013.exe and install went okay. Any time I upgrade to new version always end up losing music files in library and have to manually copy files to program as file names show up but program cannot find file until I recopy to individual folder in media center program.  New problem, check media center info and it says version 22.0.108 is installed. Tried to use audio only mode and came up with error windows cannot find 'C:windows\system32\mc22.exe. This is the second attempt at install to use audio only mode, last error was the  toolbox not installed.

22.0.108 is the recommended version.  Please install it.  You can probably restore a library from a previous version.  File > Library > Restore.

This is the version it shows....22.0.108 the recommended version. Like I said earlier, when trying to use audio only mode the program comes up with error windows cannot find 'C:windows\system32\mc22.exe. Is this part of version 22 working. It looks as if when the program installs it does not install properly.  Have installed four times and each time have the same error, when I try to use the audio mode only from the drop down box under the view header. I get period crashes also now.

Were you starting Media Center and/or Media Server at startup? This *could* be why.

I am using Media Center, starting with installed icon created by program.  I do not use the server function.  Thank you

Another problem that has been happening since the last update to program, if Media Center is running, listening to headphones and surfing different forums at least once a session, when entering a new webpage, the music playing will enter an unstable state, where music stops and is replaced by noise, sounds similar to an open ground.  I have to go to Media Center hit the stop key, change to next song, and hit play and it works again. Usually only happens once, per online session.

I couldn't duplicate this problem.  It's possible that some "security" software is causing it.

The distortion sounds like "motor boating" if you know what I mean. Now this morning this is happening every time I change pages or read email and follow a link. Would it help to uninstall, and wipe all Media Center info, and then reinstall?

That's probably a driver problem.  Try setting MC's audio to DirectSound.  Try playing ordinary FLAC or similar at 44.1 or 48 Khz.

Changed the driver to direct sound and so far, things are better was using the Asus Asio driver before, this seems to be working.  Thank you for your help.

If that works, try WASAPI.
