Holiday mode ?
« on: July 15, 2017, 12:51:14 pm »

Great day,

Still very happy here with Engen.
Does its job as should.
I do use it as Theater set-up as also run daily tasks by MCs scheduler.
Some of them are different for the weekend.

But maybe it make sense to have some 'holiday' mode.
A mode where some/all schedules are set to be bypassed.
Or have a special scheduler which handles exceptions over the defaults.
In my case if would exclude all powered window rolls from their daily opening and closing.

Also some off-default lighting activation could be handy as additional 'security' around the house during holidays/away.

Just an idea 🤔

I may not be entirely clear on what you're asking for, but it sounds like a lot of this can already be done with Media Center's task scheduler. When you create a task, you can make it reoccurring and select which days it should reoccur on. Aside from that, if you select a task you've created, you can pause it with the Pause button at the top of the Scheduler dialog. This will prevent it from triggering until you unpause it. Using this, you could also create a daily task to turn lights on but leave it paused until going on vacation.

Ha thanks Brad,

I didn't noticed the 'pause' button, but this does exactly what i'm after :-)

In a nutshell my request was having some ability to bypass (some) of the scheduled tasks during a longer time of absence (like a holiday).

I was previous thinking of have a 'holiday' profile where you can activate a bypass over the default schedules.

Thanks for the hint and have a nice day Brad !
