John Abercrombie died last week. He was a monster musician, a true original voice. His creativity and constant output often took the guitar to new places.
I liked his sound a lot, it had a big range of articulation to the front of notes and a tonal growl that lent the guitar a voice that alternates between singing notes and speaking inflections.
