Can't type letters in non-english keyboard layout

Hi everyone! Recently I discovered a problem - I can't type NON-English (Russian) letters in mediacenter 21/22 (for example in tag editor).  It is worked earlier on my Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, and it is work now in mediacenter 23, but not in 21/22... Is there any solution, other than buying version 23?? ::)

Looks like support for non-US keyboards wasn't added until 23.0.41, so it looks like there's solution other than using MC 23.

Perhaps inaccurately said - I could type Russian letters in 21 version some time ago, but now it is not work (only on 23 it's working).
