madVR hardware requirements
« on: February 13, 2018, 03:59:53 pm »

Hi folks,

What are the minimum hardware requirements for madVR playback via Blu-ray and UHD respectively? Would an Intel Pentium G4600 with Intel HD Graphics 630 and 8GB RAM (Win10 64-bit) be sufficient for madVR Blu-ray playback, or does one need to aim higher and possibly even need a separate graphics card? I take it madVR UHD playback takes an even bigger toll on the hardware..

I don’t think there is exactly minimum requirement ... powerful gpu will just be able to run MadVR at higher settings

I cannot comment on your CPU as I run completely different setup ... mine is i7 with 1070 ... though for MadVR I think gpu is more critical ...  I able to push most scenarios at high settings

PS. I found upscaling large images takes lots of gpu power ... I able to scale 480i DVDs to 4k at highest setting ... but only manage medium setting for 4k chroma upscaling
