where is my license
« on: March 12, 2018, 08:56:35 am »

I buy MC23, I see MC24 in Paypal. I bought a master license. I install it on Windows, works. Now I installed MC23 on linux. It needs license code. I follow procedure for installing license manually from here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,111373.0.html. If I enter the line in my terminal I get an error: It says that the license is for a different version. I know that the license is for MC24 already, but MC 24 is not there, right? So how am I supposed to use the new master license for linux then? Really weird this... In windows it did work why not in linux? This is the output from the terminal:

mediacenter23 /RestoreFromFile "/home/marcel/cloud/stack/mmolendijk/programdata/jriver/Media Center24 Master-blahblah.mjr"
CRegistrationHelper::RestoreFromFile: bInstalledOk is false, error = Your license file is for a different product.
Could not restore license from file /home/marcel/cloud/stack/mmolendijk/programdata/jriver/Media Center24 Master-blahblah.mjr

Any help much appreciated

Marcel.

Why not just send working license keys for 23 and 24? For all os-es if one buys master? Why so difficult?

You need to be using 23.0.102 build for Linux that's in the latest repo. If you're using the stable repo, that's probably why as (I believe) it has an older build of MC23 which is considered stable. But the problem is any older MC23 builds than 23.0.102 won't accept a MC24 license, so you have to use at least 23.0.102 or above (if anymore builds for MC23 are released). You didn't mention what Linux distro you're using, so I'm assuming Debian/Ubuntu/Mint or something like that which supports the repos.

Ok, thanks for the quick response! I am using "stable" on Ubuntu 16.04LTS..  I have un-installed with purge mediacenter23, and then just changed the word "stable" into "latest" in the line in system options -> software & updates -> other software. After that did update and upgrade in terminal, an just re-installed mediacenter23. Now it is version 23.0.102..
