Lakka
« on: April 22, 2018, 10:09:32 am »

So I had a NUC lying around, just one with the Celeron chip so it was never going to fly me to the moon, and I decided to put Lakka on it. Have to say it's not bad.

It's great to be able to play all the old Atari games I grew up with (that I still have the cartridges for, of course) - River Raid, Space Invaders etc, plus some of the later Playstation games like Driver 2, GT2, Spyro (for the kids) and Sega games like Sonic, Sega Rally...

Purchased a couple of Dualshock 3 controllers to go with it (cheapies off eBay). For the cost and form factor it's not a bad little machine to start the kids off (and maybe myself as well :-) )

Plenty of fun to be had from a time when gaming was a little more "fun".

If they've got Galaga, I reckon you've sucked me in.

I was just wondering this morning, "what should I do with that RPi B+ I've got lying around?" ... I think this might get me into trouble.

You should be able to find a ROM for Galaga no problem. I played Gran Turismo 2 for about 8 hours yesterday. Tired boy today... :(
