Using JRiver server as a remote control for a client?
« on: May 06, 2018, 04:09:51 pm »

I have my JRiver server on a PC. This is where I add new albums and do my tagging/rating, etc. But the PC is also my main work computer in the home office, the speakers here aren't great.

I have a Macbook Pro connected to my main hi-fi system. I run a JRiver client on the Macbook Pro to plug in to a Marantz DAC. This works perfectly with a wireless keyboard to play JRiver on the hi-fi system.

But if I wanted to cut out the wireless mac keyboard, is there a way I can control the Macbook client from my PC server?

I'd like to choose which playlists or album to play from my PC, but want them to play on the Macbook, not on the PC. Can anyone help me with this setup?

If the client has media network enabled (and DLNA renderer checked) it should show up as a zone on the server.  You can play anything to the client from the server then.
