Shuts down after a minute or two
« on: May 13, 2018, 05:13:42 pm »

I am running 2400025 and it is still shutting down after a minute or two.  Is the solution to shut off autoupdate?

MC24 just shuts down on its own.  I reinstalled MC24 but that did not change anything.  The mac reports the following:

Crashed Thread:        9

Exception Type:        EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes:       KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00007fc69b3fffe0
Exception Note:        EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

Termination Signal:    Segmentation fault: 11
Termination Reason:    Namespace SIGNAL, Code 0xb
Terminating Process:   exc handler

The latest version of High Sierra.
The dump text of the crash report and a log would be good.
As for auto update, you can turn it off under the Help menu..

By dump text you mean the text that Apple's crash report generates or is this something in MC24?  Where do I e-mail the dump text?  Or do I post it here?

The apple crash report details, you can attach them here or email it to bob (at) jriver (dot) com.
Also a log would be good. Turn on logging in MC and after the crash, the next time you go into the logging you can choose "Report Problem" which will create a zipfile on the desktop which you can email to us.
The log will include the previous log so we can look at that for info.
