Weird static (white noise) issue
« on: May 19, 2018, 01:26:44 pm »

I have been having a problem using Rogue Amoeba Airfoil (5.5.0 b8) with MC 21 - 24.

When starting MC through Airfoil, any songs I play from the library (FLAC or WAV) CD or streaming, are overlaid with loud static, like a really bad AM radio station or a severely blown tweeter. They are unlistenable. This is for any target speaker I select from my airplay list.

When I start MC normally and play through my system sound card to the computer speakers, there is no issue.

When I start either Windows Media Player or Foobar 2000 from Airfoil, there is no issue. Everything plays through any airplay speaker with no problem.

So the only combination that doesn't work is Airfoil with MC, which of course, is the one I want.

I have removed an M-Audio sound card to get back to the motherboard built in soundcard, same issue. All drivers are up to date.

Anyone run in to anything like this or have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
