Accentuated characters from tags display wrong
« on: June 08, 2003, 08:11:18 am »

The accentuated French characters from tags of APE file do not display correctly.
For instance, for a song named "j'ai zappé", MC displays "j'ai zappĂ©".
I tried both with MC 9.0.175 and 9.1.194, same display.

I'm using EAC for ripping and compression to APE files.
I configured EAC for ID3 V1.1 and 2.4 tags.
I'm also using wapet to add APE tags.

Anybody has any idea what might go wrong? Anybody with same problem?

Thanks for any help,
Eric.

Do not add ID3v2 tags to APE files -- it's unsupported and bad.

And I don't know, but maybe wapet doesn't tag properly. (looks like it isn't using UTF-8, which is required in APEv2 tags)

Using Media Center for your APE tagging is your best bet.

Thanks for the info, I'll try that.
It would be great using MC to tag APE files but as I'm ripping from EAC, how can I achieve "automatic" artist/titles/... completion then?
