Dolby Vision on NVidia
« on: June 04, 2018, 12:30:19 am »

https://www.anandtech.com/show/11214/nvidia-releases-37892-driver-mass-effect-and-dolby-vision-for-games

seems nvidia supports dolby vision now ... while to display DV from UHD disc requires that stream to be decoded (hence its playback could take ages to implement ... 3D certanly took long time to implement) ... think its possible MadVR can render HDR10 to DV ... 12bit in DV and its tone mapping might improve normal HDR10?

was gonna post this on MadVR forum ... but need 5 days after registration before able to post anything on that forum

You do know that this article is from March 2017, right? :)

Nothing about Dolby Vision is "open", just because the driver theoretically supports it doesn't mean that anyone will actually tell you how to do it, unless you pay them lots of money and sign various contracts.
