JRiver Media Center for Windows on ARM64 Pro?
« on: July 04, 2018, 02:22:55 pm »

I was one of the first wave of HP Envy X2 owners with Snapdragon 835 ARM64 CPU and immediately upgraded from Win10S to Win10Pro. I also do some development and using the latest Preview Visual Studio 2017 Pro was easily able to build Codejock MFC extension library for ARM64 (native).

does JRiver have even an early build of MC24/25 for those who would want to beta test-even with reduced feature set.

WOA seems fully functional and unrestricted. Unless OpenGL (vs DirectX) is mandatory, I would think most dependencies for MC24 would build without problem for ARM64 targets.

Thanks in advance but don't suggest running emulated x86. Not what I am asking about.

Happy 4th of July

We don't currently plan on such a version in the short-term. Sorry.

With the release of the Surface Pro X running Windows 10 on ARM64, I wanted to bubble this topic back up. Any plans to recompile MC26 to run native on Windows 10/ARM64?

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one happening. I don't think the incentive for JRiver to get MC working on Windows on ARM is there, as there is likely little return on investment for the development time.

Asking this again, would be super happy to use JRiver MediaCenter (native for Windows 10 on ARM64) on our Surface Pro Xs. (Using JRiver MediaCenter since 2004)

Any news?

Update: just saw I posted this for MC24. Of course I'm looking for a native Windows 10 on ARM64 version for the latest and future versions of JRiver MediaCenter. Posted this as a new topic in MC27: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,128567.0.html
