Hiya people,
Although I am a Media centre 22 user, this question is still important for all versions, I think.
Here is the problem: I have had a MacMini for many years as my music server and have more than 1500 CD’s, HDtracks and recorded HD vinyl. It was all safely backuped on a external server and was used with playlist on my MacMini. I use a dac from Chord with USB to my Quad 99 stereo. Great sound. Fine player.
The whole HDD went however to small and exceeded the 2 Tb and I upgraded to a MacPro. I used Timemachine to get the stuff back on my new Mac but I also could have used the local made back up.
The path for a songs now is users/macmini/music/classical/bach/cantates/glenn gould for a, you quested it, Glenn Gould record.
But I want to get rid of the MACMINI name! I had to keep the Macmini name because of all the hard work I had making all these playlist. I was forced to use the old name. I much rather take a new clean install and get the music files on a different location, or at least name.
So my question is: can I keep all my playlists but change the path of these playlists into a new computer e.g. MacPro....?
So users/macpro/music/classical/bach/cantates/glenn gould
Could there be some kind of work-around? Some kind of trick? I really don’t want to make and edit all these playlists again. It took me over a year to get all the work done. All the filing, cover art and naming. Jeez, what a work:-)
I hope someone hase a good answer and thanks in advance!
