I know about the ability to have MC auto adjust the displays refresh rate to match content refresh rate. That is great! However, my HTPC is connected to 4K Sony XBR 850D. I keep the desktop settings at 1920x1080@60Hz, but often play movies that are 23.976 fps or 24 fps. Some of those movies are plain ole' Blu Ray 1920x1080 resolution while some of the movies are the new hotness of 3840x2160.
Right now, I have JRiver set to automatically switch all 23.976 fps and 24 fps movies to 3840x2160 so it will accomodate my 4K/UHD movies. The upscaler allows the 1920x1080 movies to look okay, but I'm curious why JRiver can't look at the Media Info of the movie, see what the resolution is and then adjust accordingly.
Sidenote:
My biggest gripe about playing 3840x2160 movies is how incredibly small the info/seek/rewind bar becomes. God forbid I have to right-click to access the Subtitles menu or something. I need the Hubble Telescope to perform those functions!
Is there any way to have that object adjust/compensate for the 4K/UHD resolution? Is that something I'd have to manually adjust each time I decide to play a UHD film? If so, how. NASA wants their telescope back.
Thanks!
