When I check the 'Show link checkbox' for a field, for instance Composer, it seems to have no effect in MC24 for mac. No link arrows appear in the library views.
Or am I missing something?
(I am running 24.0.53.)

Do your other link checkboxes work?  For Artist and Album for example? 

This is basic, but make sure you are in a details type view that shows the columns you are talking about.  You can't see a link box without seeing the field displayed also.  (I know very basic)

Thanks! I only use Panes type views with the details (fields) in the lower half of the screen. I have never seen any link boxes.

The link boxes should show up in the details in a Panes view.  The link boxes look like a very small triangle inside of a circle.

It's possible that the skin you are using obscures the boxes with it's color scheme or something.  Modern Cards, for example, shows teeny tiny little dots for it's link boxes.  Maybe try Noire as a test.  It's link boxes are very obvious.

Strange, same with Noire: no link checkboxes to be found.

You might have them turned off in options:

Tools > Options > General > Features > Linkable Columns > (check to enable)

Ah, thanks. Indeed that was unchecked. After checking it, the link checkbox appears next to 'user data' fields, but not next to 'calculated data' fields, although there is an option to tick 'Show a link checkbox' for the latter. Is this by design?
