Hotkeys everywhere?
« on: October 09, 2018, 06:58:47 am »

I have defined some hotkeys for MC, specifically the letters qwe for managing subtitles (browse and turn on/off) as well as 0 (zero) to go back to the beginning (tried to mimic youtube, but MC lacks enough customization for the other numbers).

However, these letters/numbers no longer work elsewhere in MC. When writing in the search field outside of theatre view, I can't type in q,w,e or 0. Why does MC think I might want to change subtitles or go to the beginning of a movie, when the cursor is blinking in the search field and there is no media currently playing?

The hotkey definitions in Resource.xml have an optional parameter called TranslateFlags.  This tells MC where to use the hot keys and where not to.  It's documented at the top of the sample file.

When I've defined individual keys (like spacebar for play/pause) I've used a flag of 32.  In other places I've used 21.  You might try those, or read the definition and try your own combinations to see what happens.

Good luck.
