Option "Play silence at startup" not sticking
« on: October 30, 2018, 12:12:15 pm »

I have tried to set the option to "Play silence at startup for hardware synchronization" to 1/4 second about a half a dozen times, but when I close MC and start it again, it has reset itself to "None."

Can anyone think of a reason for this?

I can't reproduce this.  It even saves and loads properly running with a foreign language.

The registry setting is "Startup Gap MS" but it's a little buried so I'm not sure you could check it.

Have you tried updating to the latest build of Media Center?

Thanks.

Of course I went back one more time and it stuck this time. Maybe it thought audio was playing previously? I'll post again if it unsticks.

It started happening again. I did a screen capture which I have posted here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n1s8yldkbomf58h/2018-11-12%2016-54-41.mp4?dl=0

Any ideas?

To follow up on this, if I start MC, set silence to 1/4 second, close MC and then open it again, the setting has stuck. However, as soon as I play something, the setting resets to 'None.'

Ok sorry to bogart my own post, but I *might* have solved the issue. I have a default DSP profile that I apply to all songs unless they have specific needs. So after my last post it occurred to me that it might be the culprit. I couldn't find anything specific in the DSP settings regarding startup silence, but I set it to 1/4 second in the options, then re-saved the default DSP profile. I have played, stopped, restarted music and the setting doesn't reset anymore. Hopefully this fixes it.
