Import Summary Dicrepancy between Windows & Linux versions

I have today purposely deleted my Library on both my NUC Id, and my Windows Desktop. I then configured Auto Import to re import my entire music collection, The windows desktop direct from the NAS and the Id from a USB hard drive that is clone of the NAS. A few hours later they have both finished the windows machine telling me it has imported 26448 files  The Id says it has imported 45509 ?
The Windows Machine figure being more realistic.
Both Libraries were set to default and the same options selected were the same on the import?
 Has anyone any idea what the difference is?
